What I Thought

A quick but fun read! ๐Ÿ™‚

Dani is maid of honor for her best friend, Roxy’s wedding to Kyle. Kyle’s bestfriend, Jamie, turns up to be best man. Jamie also happens to be Dani’s ex. An ex that broke her heart and moved away after she declared her love because he has commitment issues. Because of these issues, Roxy says she doesnt want Jamie left alone around Kyle incase he says something to give him cold feet about marrying her, so she asks Dani to keep Jamie distracted and away from Kyle as much as she can. Is this the real reason Roxy asked this of Dani though?

Jamie and Dani are still insanely attracted to each other and after airing out what previously happened between them, their attraction becomes too much for them both to ignore and they agree to become ” friends with benefits “. They both decide there are to be no feelings involved and to keep their agreement a secret from all of ย their friends. Dani knows her friends would try to intervene after how hurt she was when they split, so she thinks its easier they dont know. Jamie’s stuck up, messed up family never approved of Dani whilst they were in a relationship, claiming she had nothing to bring to benefit the family name or business.

So Jamie and Dani end up pretty much attached at the hip, spending nearly every spare second they have together. All the while trying to keep their arrangement a secret. Unable to keep their hands off each other, a steamy encounter in a restaurant toilet, leads to them nearly getting caught. Secrets always have a way of coming out though don’t they? Can both Jamie and Dani keep feelings out of the equation like they agreed? Or has Jamie’s parents divorce destroyed his belief in Happily ever after forever?

Overall…….a good contemporary romance. Dani was spunky and direct and she often had me laughing out loud. Jamie, underneath is still affected by his parents messy divorce and is therefore skeptical of any relationship working out and especially of marriage. A little scared to I think.

There were a few sex scenes that were crazy hot! I mean come on…….On the hood of a car, in a dark corner of a parking lot! Phew!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The secondary characters were a giggle and I hope there is a possibility of them also having their own books released. The one downside for me, is that as this was quite a short book, the ending came across as a little rushed. If it could of been built up a bit more, made a bit longer and more descriptive, it would of been the perfect ending for me. This in no way though, put me off reading the book again or following on if this did become a book series.

The writing style was fast paced and quirky but it also had a sweet, serious side. It was a cute little read, one of them stories that makes you smile, even if you can possibly tell what is coming up. Just a shame its over so quick.
