Her Confession by S. Valentine Review
What I Thought
So……Woah……I knew I would LOVE Her Confession before reading it after loving book #1, His Confession, but this story totally threw it out of the park for me! I am literally writing this review minutes after coming to the end of Her Confession and I feel like I am high on adrenaline or something, in a rush to get my words down on the page and feeling like I have so much I want to write. All the way through I was like “ I need to know what’s going to happen next” or “Sophia is totally going to receive an angry emoji for making me feel this way” Once I started Her Confession, I was locked in until the end. And then I get to the end and realise that I need to wait for book #3 for a new what happens next, well, all I can say Sophia is that if you keep me waiting for long, there will be more than one angry faced emoji coming your way! 😉 (Joke! The storylines are well worth a short wait!)
I have been highly anticipating more Darion Milano and Gabriella Woods since finishing up book #1. With Darion’s ex-wife, Eva, now back in the picture, I needed to know what the evil one wanted! I was all up for jumping into fiction land and doing away with that woman so she didn’t come between Gabi and Darion. But hey…..A bitchy ex does make for an entertaining read!
With Gabi being insecure with Eva’s return, wondering if she is just there for the club, or does she want Darion back, and if so does he still love her, well Gabi’s emotions are all over the place. Add in there the fact that she is just not sure if she can handle Darion’s love for swinging, never mind partaking in it.
With Darion thinking that Gabi is just easing herself in to the play rooms slowly, he is being patient, thinking she will be ready soon and then with him feeling a little conflicted, with his body still reacting to his ex-bitch, (sorry I mean wife), well, my heart was in my throat pretty much through the whole book. I was so anxious for Darion and Gabi as a couple.
Is the past truly the past for Darion and Eva? Can Gabi push past her feelings of doubt to fulfil her man’s needs? And the title of the book…..Just what is Her Confession?
Her Confession is just full of emotion. It had me up and down like a yoyo. I was anxious, heartbroken, and hopeful. I felt hatred, distrustful and elation. See…..Yoyo! Reading Her Confession is serious tummy churning stuff, I just could not predict what was coming up or what would happen next, it definitely keeps you hooked and on your toes. I feel obsessed with Darion and Gabi’s relationship. Fanatical. My eyes even leaked once or twice along with Gabi’s, like I was experiencing the emotions right along with her.
At one point I did want to punch my main man, Darion, in his man parts and scream in his face that
“He shouldn’t be getting a wiggle on in his pants from his ex-wife, whilst in love with Gabi. No no no NO!!”
But then I thought, hey, he’s a man, surrounded by beautiful ladies constantly. As long as the snake stays in the pants!
Her Confession is written from the male and female perspective giving off a descriptive and intimate vibe with it being inside the head space of each character and giving off a more rounded portrait of the story line.
Whilst I did love His Confession, the beginning of Darion and Gabi’s story, Her Confession evoked so much more in me. The whole storyline was more. Raw. Passionate. Intense. Even shock when Darion actually made me laugh, something I did not expect from Mr sexy and intense.
“How long is your cigarette?” Mallory asked Darion. Gabi could see her friend was trying her hardest to keep a straight face.
“About eight inches,” Darion teased as he sat down.
Suzie almost choked on her drink, whilst Mallory’s lips formed into a grin. Gabi slapped Darion on the arm lightly.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed Her Confession, a five sweet read this time around for me and I really cannot wait for book #3 in The Black Door Trilogy series, Their Confession.
Oh and I was super chuffed to see my name within the acknowledgments 🙂 thank you Sophia!
