Interview with Audrey Randall
About The Author
Audrey is just a girl who loves romance with heat in her books. From a young age, she used to sneak romance novels to read in the middle of the night. The more smut the better! When she’s not picturing men in kilts, or preferably nothing at all, she likes to read, watch movies, and eat as much ice cream as possible!
Feel free to contact Audrey! She loves to hear from her readers!
Stalk Her Here
What were you like at school?
Oh boy! What a question! In high school I was Type A to the extreme! Driven! Looking back, I wish that I had taken more time to enjoy life instead of always worrying about school. On the other hand, being who I was, helped shape who I am, so I’m happy with it!
Can you tell us a joke?
What is your biggest fear?
Sharks! By far over everything else. It is a totally irrational fear, but I developed it when I was young. I just so happened to come in to a theatre when I was about 5 years old as Jaws came up out of the water. I’m afraid to say that it marked me for life. To this day, my family LOVES to tease me. They buy me shark pajamas, stuffed animals, send me shark memes, etc.
What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
About two cartons of ice cream. Ice cream and I are in a serious relationship.
If you were a superhero, what would your superhero name be and what would be your super power?
I would be Lady Leap who could travel through time. I think it would be awesome to transport myself to any moment of time that I liked. Past, Present, Future! Imagine the stories! My super power name would be Lady Leap.
What would you do if you were the last person on earth?
Cry. Seriously. And probably eat all the ice cream I could find.
What made you sit down and actually start writing a book?
My little one was taking three hour naps in the middle of the day and I had worked my way through all the shows that looked interesting on Netflix. Needing something to keep my brain active, I started to write! I’ve been doing it since then and loving it!
Do you have a special time to write? Do you write full or part time?
At the moment, I write at night and on the weekend mornings. I wish I had more time to write, but at the same time I am so thrilled to have the time with my little one.
What does your writing process look like?
Once I have an idea, I let it stew in the back of my mind for a few days. I often think about it in the shower. I seem to come up with my best ideas there. Then, I will sit down and start writing. I will write for a while and then think some more. After I do that, I usually change things and continue onward. This is my usual process to the end of the book. It may not be the most organised, but it works for me!
How do you go about marketing your books?
I just try to get the word out over social media. It feels like the marketing takes more time than the writing, at times.
Do you think the cover plays an important part in the buying process?
Very much so! I know that they say “don’t judge a book by its cover,” but I know I’m guilty of it! If the image intrigues me, I’ll get it. If it looks… not as interesting, I might forget about it.
Do you have any interesting or fun writing quirks?
I have to fell “in the mood” to write. If I feel like it, I can do it fairly quickly; however, if I’m not in the mood, it could take forever and be all junk. I also come up with many of my great ideas in the shower. Can’t say why or how, but there it is!
Is anything you write based on real life experiences or is your writing purely all imagination?
Hmmmm…. A little of both! At one point, I was very well versed in video games and technology, so that is part of my life experience. As for all the erotic stuff… I plead the fifth! I will say that Dante de la Vega in Playing Her Game was inspired by my real life sexy Latin lover- my husband.
How do you feel about ebooks vs print books? For your own reading, which do you prefer?
It’s funny! When ebooks came out, I thought I would never get used to them. I liked the ink stains from the books on my hands and the feel of the pages. Now, I feel weird reading a “real” book. In some ways, I find the ink stains and the pages flipping annoying! The only exception to this for me is school books. I still like to be able to highlight the pages and make sticky notes. I’m not sure I would be able to study without them!
Do you have any advice for anyone wishing to start writing their first book?
Just jump in! The white page can be intimidating, but you have to stare it down and get something on the page. You can do it!
Thank you so much for participating in this interview Audrey 🙂

He’s burning up on this latest assignment…
Dante de la Vega is one of the hottest reporters in Mexico. He’s got it all. The looks, the talent, and the bullet wounds to prove his street cred. So, to a man used to covering the most dangerous drug cartels in Mexico, being sent to cover a videogame tournament seems trivial. That was until he stumbled upon Stephanie Stevens, known as Star Fury in The Celestial Prophesy, playing Pokémon GO in the bushes. She may have looked crazy to the rest of the world as she swiped at her phone screen, but he saw his North Star. Luckily, he knew that she liked what she saw when she finally looked up at him. Now, he’ll do anything in his power to make her see that they should collide- even if that means playing up the Latin lover stereotype, no matter what the truth really is.
Karma is a bitch…
Steph, known as Star Fury, is on a mission to regain her title as a top pro player in The Celestial Prophesy. When she broke her wrists before the regional competition, she guilt-tripped her twin sister, Aimee, to fill in for her. However, karma is a bitch that bit her in the butt. During the regional competition, Aimee scored for the other team and played so poorly that the press is wondering if Steph Stevens has lost her luster.
She can’t afford to burn out…
Steph can’t afford to be distracted during the North American Tournament. She needs to perform or her career will supernova. But, the stars are not aligning and things seem to be crashing down as she deals with more injuries, bloodthirsty competitors, and a hot Latin lover who sets her body ablaze. The question will be can Dante be her Jedi knight or will he just be a distracting Cassanova?
Caution: This scorching hot short story makes the Sun feel cold. If you love videogames and hot Latin men, then this one is for you! This is a complete story with an HEA. Just so you know, there’s a lot of SIZZLING scenes. Enjoy if you’re 18+.
