Interview With Kaylee Song
Kaylee Song started writing Romance as a teen, always preferring the stories that had a strong woman, and an alpha male. Mostly she wanted her works to touch the soul. Never satisfied, she has been writing ever since.
Living in Charm City, Kaylee loves the Bay, and all things related to it. She can be found at any park, at any time, dreaming about her next steamy story.
Please stop by often for news and updates. Kaylee always has a story burning to get out.
What is your favourite food?
If you were a superhero, what would your superhero name be and why?
This is a hard one! Strong Warrior Woman, maybe? I don’t back down from a challenge.
Can you give us an interesting fun fact about yourself?
I have special powers with cats, they all love me and I can pretty much get them to follow orders (yes, I am a crazy cat lady! I just have one kitty though, so maybe I’m just one in training).
Do you have any phobias?
If a genie granted you three wishes, what would they be?
I don’t need three, I just want one. One last day with my dad, just to talk to him. But then I bet I would want another.
Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?
I work best in the morning. So usually I get up, take my dog hiking or to the dog park and then I write my little heart out until my husband gets home.
What does your writing process look like?
I outline! First the big story, then scene by scene.
Do you think the cover of a book plays an important part in the buying process?
I do. I think it has to call to people and has to make them want to read the blurb/first chapter. Then it is all about the story.
What are your thoughts on good/bad reviews?
Any and every review helps me to know my audience better. It also lets me know how I am doing. I try not to get discouraged, but to let it help me create a better story for my audience.
Do you respond to your reviews? Whether good or bad?
It depends on if they contact me, if they do, I do, if not, then I want to let the readers have their own discourse.
Which of your books did you enjoy writing the most and why?
Aidan’s book, Wrath. I’ve wanted to write it for years. I come from a line of army men, and I am a very patriotic person, so I appreciate what our veterans do and what they’ve gone through. I wanted to showcase that.
Do you have any strange writing habits?
I need my little moo-cow timer to write (I write for a timed amount, then I rest, and I use that to help).
What dreams have been realised as a result of your writing?
I’m able to work from home, or anywhere, really, so writing lets me travel!
What is your advice for future writers?
Work hard, write in what you believe in and do not give up!
