Kissing Mr Wrong
What I Thought
After having been laid off from her job, Vanessa Hewitt is drowning her sorrows in a bar. John Campbell is passing through the town and spots the beautiful Vanessa. However he notices she is down and clearly drowning her sorrows. When Vanessa leaves the bar, John follows to make sure she is ok and is immediately alarmed when he spots her climbing on the old stone bridge.
John intervenes and what becomes clear was a wrong assumption, leads to them talking, then sparks of instant attraction start to fly, and then, the hottest one night stand, a night of passion neither will forget!
Three months later, Vanessa is helping plan her best friend, Jess’, engagement party. They are all awaiting the arrival of Jess’ brother, Jack, to help with the planning. Enter John. Confused?? Jack and John are the same person. Jack is the nickname John’s family gave him.
So……John heads to the bar to seek out Vanessa, the one night stand that he can’t get out of his head. Vanessa and John end up locked in the pubs storeroom. Whilst in the confines of the small room they discover they have someone in common, Jess. Vanessa see’s no way past this without betraying her best friend.
Is this an obstacle that can be overcome by Vanessa, John and Jess?
Kissing Mr Wrong was a very charming and heart warming Novella. Being a short story it didn’t take me long to read at all. It’s jam packed though. You have varying emotions, romance, heartbreak and angst and I thought a little comedy was in there too. Its bursting from beginning to end.
I found Kissing Mr Wrong to be a very easy read but it did pull me in. It did hold a weakness of mine to though, John, the hottie!! 🙂 I found myself wanting a happily ever after for Vanessa and John. I was impressed that so much was portrayed with it being a novella, but it worked and didnt feel like there was too much going on. It was detailed, had depth and even a few steamy sex scenes. You could almost feel the chemistry and attraction between Vanessa and John.
Overall Kissing Mr Wrong was a cute, short story. Easy to lose yourself in and read in one sitting.
