What I Thought
The first time Cole sees Angel she is battered and bruised and being dragged around the motorcycle club by one of his ‘brothers’ in handcuffs. For some reason Cole wants to save Angel. At first Angel is hard to handle and angry and after numerous attempts to hurt Cole, she finally sees he is telling her the truth when he tells her he wont hurt her. Cole makes a deal with Angel to help her get revenge on those that hurt her before Cole intervened and saved her. Cole and Angel spend an intense Nine days together, both knowing they are from different worlds, wondering if they can make things work, wondering if they can fight everything that could rock a relationship between them but also not wanting to let each other go. That is, until the motorcycle club president, Mack, intervenes and they end up apart, each thinking the other didn’t want them anymore.
Three years later, Angel has kept a big secret from Cole but badly needs his help. Its time to come clean. Feelings resurface and its like they haven’t been apart, but Cole also isn’t being upfront. When the truth is finally revealed, Angel sends Cole away and wants nothing more to do with him. Enter Angel’s aunt, Natalie.
Can they overcome Cole’s bad boy, criminal past with the motorcycle club? Their hurts and lies? Can Cole and Angel have their happily ever after?
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE reading bad boy books, but I do usually struggle with motorcycle gang books. Outlaw however, captured me. I didn’t want to put it down. The story was written from both Cole’s and Angel’s sides in third person. I loved how Cole was all tough bad boy around everyone, but when it came to Angel he was a huge softy. Angel was stubborn and often challenged Cole. The other characters, Natalie, Crash, Crystal and Mack were all so likeable and I will definitely be adding their stories to my ‘to be read’ list. The three year jump halfway through, threw me at first but it definitely turned out to be a good jump. This book, to me, had the right amount of language, sex and violence for a biker book, made more perfect for me, with the added romance.
Nicole wrote a book that I couldn’t put down, that had my stomach twisting and turning with nerves, for what may happen for Cole and Angel. The story was edgy and kept me transfixed. This was a great read.
