What I thought
So Raven Winters catches her rocker boyfriend, Ivan going at it doggie style with a groupie when she visits him to celebrate their one year anniversary together. During a drunken rant, that is filmed by her best friend, Marsha, Raven decides its about time to turn the tables on these rockers and to get what she wants from them sexually and then leave. No emotions, no connections. Just raw satisfying sex. She drunkenly names the club, Rock F*ck Club. Ten different rockers, hand picked by her, at ten different concert venues. While drunk, this sounds like an awesome idea. So the next day when Marsha informs Raven that she uploaded the video to you tube and it has had millions of hits, she is flabbergasted and Marsha persuades her to go ahead. RFC is formed with Marsha filming and creating material to upload for followers.
The last thing both ladies expect is for radio stations and TV channels to pick up what is happening and they both suddenly become in the spotlight. Party offers come in abundance. Sex god rockers offer up their ‘services’ and then money offers are on the cards. Sounds perfect and fun…… until a certain English rock god catches her eye and her attention and she cant get him out of her head, especially as he notices Raven right back. With Marsha in need of money and Raven feeling partially responsible for her needing it, does Raven go with the a reality TV show and a chunk of cash to help her friend or does she follow her heart and her lady parts all the way to sexy Lucky Spencer, frontman of the rock band, The Dragons?
Rock F*ck Club has it all really! Sex, sex and more sex. Hot rock stars, romance, drama, tension, misconstrued thoughts and opinions, character growth and acceptance, to name just a few. It is a fast paced story with short chapters and it certainly keeps you on your toes. Wondering who the next RFC victim will be, the twists, new friendships, drug taking rockers that I want to punch in the face (insert angry red faced emoji) and secrets that are revealed. This whole story is one big whole lot of woah!!!
I loved all the characters in this book. Raven Winters and her whole family back ground intrigued me. Raven grew immensely throughout this story and went on a journey of self discovery throughout Rock F*ck Club, and she learnt to accept that past incidents weren’t all on her. Lucky Spencer and how he looks after his sister and his protectiveness towards her and Raven. I was ADDICTED to Lucky from the beginning. The secondary characters all fit in well, they featured quite heavily throughout the book and I could quite easily, and would love to, follow this as a series and read each characters story. We were given enough insight into each secondary character to make me intrigued about their own stories.
Rock F*ck Club features on numerous times throughout, a serious long term illness that rules me, and my life really. Diabetes. It was portrayed well and highlighted instances that will maybe make people think, and if felt necessary, to get checked.
Of course this book also featured some of our favourite rockers from previous series written by Michelle, like The Dirt Dogs and Tempest, this was a fun addition.
When reading the blurb to Rock F*ck Club, I wont lie, I was a little dubious of what was to come. I was unsure of what to expect. This story does feature a whole lot of sex, but it also has a great story to it too. It is tastefully written while still making you hot under the collar. It also features a brilliant ending that gave me goosebumps. Another totally awesome novel written by the super talented Michelle Mankin!!
