My name is Milo Caro and I have a confession to make.

I’ve been in love with Colton Mathews since I was five. He should have known that sharing a cookie with a sugar obsessed little monster would do the trick–it sealed his fate. So really, the fact that he’s sporting a black eye, a limp, almost got ran over by a car, and was nearly responsible for another person’s death? Right. HIs fault. Not mine.

I made a pact with myself–this weekend would be different. I’d come home for my brothers wedding, smile, and Colton would naturally melt into my arms, we’d get married have five kids, live in a house by the river, and get a dog named scratch (clearly I’ve thought this through).

What really happened? I punched my brother in the face, Colton kissed me and apologized, I lied about having a boyfriend, oh and everyone wants to meet the mystery man.

They say laughter always comes before insanity–ha, ha. All I wanted was my brother’s best friend…instead I’m sitting in prison.

Let this be a lesson to you all…life rarely happens the way you want it to.

Damn cookie.

What I Thought

Rachel Van Dyken is another of my favourite authors. I’m a part of her group on Facebook, Rachel’s rockin readers. Rachel is always interacting with us readers and its a fun and friendly group to be a part of. We all also got a dedication in the front of this book.

So to the book! Milo is super clumsy and has been in love with her brothers best friend, Colton, for forever. After being rejected by him at 16, after trying to kiss him, Milo has felt humiliated ever since. Years later, aged 21, Milo has to return home for the weekend for her brothers wedding and will have to face Colton. Milo wants Colton to see her as the woman she now is, Not the little tomboy he grew up with.

So there is another kiss. This time it is initiated by Colton. Straight away he is apologising for it happening. Rather than have Colton think she is crying over the second rejection, She makes up having a boyfriend and being upset over cheating on him. Enter her best friend Max. Max goes along with her lie, Turning up for the weekend for the wedding. Secretly plotting to help Milo get her man.

Colton tries to fight his secret feelings, Wanting to be loyal to his best friend, Milo’s brother, Jason.

This book had me crying tears of laughter, I was receiving some very strange looks from my husband when i would all of a sudden burst into laughter. The feelings and back and forth between Milo and Colton was adorable.  Add in the secondary characters, A gay/not gay best friend, A horny grandma and a psycho bride to be and it just makes this book so much more fun to read! Its full of crazy lies, such witty banter and outrageous and hilarious shenanigans.

I read this book in a few hours. Once i started there was no way i could put it down. Eh…housework could be done another day. Bring on Max’s book!
