Ella Wilkins only wants one thing out of life—to graduate from high school and escape her hometown where everyone knows her and the dark cloud surrounding her family.
Everything is going according to plan until two new students show up at her school. Asher and Cain, identical twin brothers, take an interest in her, and she can’t help but wonder why two gorgeous brothers would want anything to do with a social outcast like her.

As she gets closer to the brothers, she’s torn between the two. Asher’s kindness pulls her in and comforts her while Cain both tempts and infuriates her with his sarcastic and devious ways.

When she learns who they truly are—or rather, what they are—things start to get a little tricky.

Ella might not know it, but she is the key to winning the ultimate battle between heaven and hell. Both realms want her, and neither is willing to let her go.

She’s torn between the ultimate temptations of heaven and hell. Which side will she choose?

What I Thought

As K.Anne’s first paranormormal book to be written, I would say she is off to a great start. Throwing HOT IDENTICAL TWINS into the story…….Genius idea by K.Anne 😉

Six months ago, Ella Wilkins was one of the prettiest and most popular girls at school, with an abundance of friends. One evening, after returning home from a social event at school, Ella’s mum tries to kill her, for reasons unknown. From then everything changed for her. Ella became a social leper, everyone thought she was crazy to, by association to her mum. Ella ended up moving in with her uncle Jack and ended up becoming a loner with only one friend, Amanda. That is, until the twins arrived.

Every girl at school wanted the hot, newcomer, identical twins, Cain and Asher Collins. Cain is confidant and cocky with a trademark smirk. Asher is more quiet and introvert. They couldn’t be any more different in personality. The twins take a keen interest in Ella, despite the most popular girls in school wanting them and Ella’s popular ex-bestfriend revealing the rumours about what her mum did and that everyone thinks Ella has a bad case of the crazies to. The twins don’t care about any rumours or popularity.  There is one problem though…….The twins cant actually stand each other!

Ella doesn’t understand why the twins would be interested in her, but after spending more time with them individually, she quickly becomes attached.

Ella soon starts noticing that some things appear a little strange. At first she thinks she is starting to become a little crazy after all. I mean, come on, who can put a dent in the wall, from the force of their throw in a game of softball!?

When Ella carries on noticing random , unexplainable goings on, she just becomes more suspicious. One night it all comes to a head. Whilst out jogging with Cain, in the rough area of town, there is an altercation between Cain, Ella and four men who are high. They start hassling Ella and when Cain steps in, things become physical. Ella is dumbfounded that Cain took on four men bigger than him, beat them and didn’t even have a scratch on him. What kept Ella’s mouth open in shock though, was the fact that Cain’s eyes were glowing. Cain tries to play it off as Ella being in shock from the fight, but she knows what she saw.

Back home, after a shower and cooking an evening meal, it’s now time to spend some time with Asher, doing homework. When Asher takes a toilet break, the air in the kitchen suddenly turns arctic. Asher returns, stops and stares angrily behind Ella. He suddenly gets a nose bleed, blood streaming everywhere. He shouts out Cain’s name and within a second  he has appeared. They are both staring behind Ella now and the next minute the air in the kitchen is warm again. What the hell just happened?? Upon returning from the bathroom with tissue for Asher’s nose, Ella hears the brothers talking. She hears the words death, protection and a mention of her mother and instantly demands answers.

Is Ella going to like what she hears though? Why do Cain and Asher hate each other so much? Guess you will have to grab a copy to find out hey! 🙂 .

What I will tell you is that there is a cliffhanger. There best not be a long wait for book #2 Mrs K. Anne! 🙂 I need to know how it follows on, like now.

I really like that as a paranormal book it was modern, in the now. I developed a little soft spot for the twins, I love Cain’s confidance and his bad boy side…….

“Cain was sarcastic and even a little perverted at times, but he wasn’t evil.”

Asher has the edge for me though. Asher all the way baby!! Throughout the book I was waiting for Asher to put the moves on Ella. The book follows in the female point of view. I did find the pace a little slow in the beginning, for the paranormal side of the book to really come out, but it soon built up. When I got to the cliffhanger end and realised there must be a second book, I was like “Ok, well that was a great build up to what I am sure will be an explosive book #2”.

I hope I don’t have a long wait for the second book as I said above. I need to know what happens with how the story was left to carry on. Plus I want some more Asher, and yes, I will take a little more Cain to if he is being offered! 🙂 I really enjoyed your first paranormal book K. Anne 🙂
